A dentist from India, I have been making a new life for myself in America since 2013. Since March 2014, I have been working as a Registered Dental Assistant at XXXX, a clinic near where I live in Houston, Texas. I have fallen totally in love with the practice of dentistry in America. It brings me such joy that I am anxious to get to the clinic early each day to begin. I have learned a great deal about some of the most advanced procedures in our clinic that will help me to excel in your DDS Program and empower me towards a long career, giving my all to my patients and increasingly making my contribution to the underserved, first in the USA and later in my native India which is in such great need. My duties at XXXX include maintaining accurate and timely records of test results and applying standard quality control procedures to assure their accuracy, regulating sterilization and asepsis protocols, managing, and ordering materials, and keeping records for state inspection and various laboratory works. I enjoy operating, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance on specialized equipment. I maintain our supply inventory, organize files and records, and prepare solutions and stains for prescribed tests. I also greet patients, set up the operatory, take and develop radiographs, and assist the dentist with various treatments and procedures. In addition to my full-time position as a Dental Assistant, since May 2015, I have worked as a research technician at the XXXX Center for Biomaterials and Biomimetics, part of the UXX School of Dentistry complex. This has also enabled me to learn about important aspects of dentistry that will be useful in the long term, especially back in India, which confronts significant challenges in waste disposal. I am very much in love with America and considering joining the US Army as a practicing dentist after completing my DDS or DMD program for at least several years, allowing me to give something back to the newly adopted country that has taken me in. I also see this as excellent preparation for a lifetime of professional service to my community at the local level here in America. Serving in the military would allow me to care for the oral health needs of a critical sector of our population, those giving their lives for our country; I cannot think of anyone more deserving of dental care. In addition, the US Army is disproportionately ethnic-minority men and women, African American, Latino, Asian, African, etc. It would be a special privilege to gain additional experience with such a vast diversity of patients. Finally, dentistry in the US Army is very high-tech, using the latest equipment and procedures, helping me continue to advance and stay at the forefront of rapid developments in dentistry and broaden my professional horizons. My long-term plan is to practice as an academic dentist. This will allow me to advance my research skills and stay updated on the latest developments in Dentistry. I have always stepped forward to serve my community and took an active, if not leading, role in numerous dental camps while in dental school. Since I arrived in America, I have also worked extremely hard as a volunteer for several worthy causes related to oral health. I continue to strengthen my leadership and communication skills – ever more adept at fostering teamwork among my colleagues. My professional experience as a dental assistant and a research technician at the Biomaterials Laboratory has helped me fully acclimate to America; now, I am convinced that I am ready to hit the ground running in your DDS/DMD program. Regularly attending and participating in conferences and seminars in various dental areas, I have consistently labored to stay up to date with the latest dental research and technology developments. I have groomed and disciplined myself to be pragmatic and caring, making a conscious effort to constantly enhance my capacity for self-criticism and improvement with a firm determination to succeed in dentistry in the USA. I am especially interested in research on dental materials' optical properties. My other areas of unique engagement with literature are oral cancer and periodontitis. My volunteer work here in Houston also stands at the center of my world. In addition to serving as a Dental Assistant at events organized by the XXXX Medical Center, for the past 16 months, I have also been volunteering at the Cardiac Care Unit of a local medical center. I never miss an AIDS Walk, an Oral Cancer Awareness Walk, or fail to participate in a Give Kids a Smile event at the UXX School of Dentistry. • Personal Statement Residency Endodontics

Immediately after I qualified in 2014, I joined the army as a military dentist but was not aware, at that time, what a wise professional decision this was. I was given early responsibility for the dental health of a large population of patients, gaining comprehensive general dental experience over a brief period. The core military values aligned very closely with my own, emphasizing personal integrity and ethical behavior. The army has also provided me with excellent post-graduate specialist training, with a significant amount devoted to endodontics. I am now a Senior Captain Dental Officer and have been assigned as a Clinical Mentor to recent graduates from Dental School. I regard this appointment as a recognition of my professional ability, communication skills, and potential. I enjoy helping the junior Captains develop their knowledge and diagnostic and clinical skills. Because of a growing interest in endodontics and increasing experience and skills in this area of work, with the permission of the dental detachment commander, I began to manage an increased number of patients with endodontic lesions in the clinic, as there is no endodontic specialist within the CAF. I have witnessed many restorable teeth with endodontic lesions being extracted for implants and seen many of those implants fail and recognized the need for expert treatments which I now seek to become equipped to provide. I undertook only 6 RCTs during my undergraduate studies, which was the minimum to qualify, and then I had no particular interest in endodontics. However, as endodontic treatments became a significant feature of my military dental work, including over two hundred RCTs, I wanted to learn about endodontics, which often provides immediate and dramatic pain relief and the saving of teeth and so affords professional satisfaction. This interest crystallized into a decision to specialize in this area during a two-week course run by three impressive AEGDs. I learned much about the various aspects of endodontics, re-treatments, and surgery. I am drawn by the prospect of specializing in a field with frequent advances in techniques and materials. I hope to participate in those developments by assisting in research. I am particularly interested in regenerative endodontics and undertaking evidence-based treatments. I have no research experience and know that even an excellent practitioner is not necessarily a good researcher. However, I possess characteristics and potential that will enable me to assist in research projects. I have demonstrated an ability to think creatively and initially when forming treatment plans since my military training has emphasized a measured, disciplined, and carefully planned approach to my work (and indeed to my life generally). I possess determination and intellectual curiosity and am happy to work collaboratively to achieve common goals. My ultimate goals are to provide high-quality endodontic treatments working in an underserved community, preferably in a multi-disciplinary clinic handling particularly complex cases/endodontic failure. I would also donate my time and skills to those unable to pay to avoid extractions. Because I have been an influential teacher and have enjoyed this aspect of work, I would also seek to pass on my skills to other dentists and students. I know that providing medical services requires a high cultural awareness and sensitivity. I have studied, worked, and socialized with people of many cultural and social backgrounds, and enjoy learning about new cultures and sharing knowledge of my rich heritage. I seek to be a ‘well-rounded’ person and pursue several hobbies, including marathon running and playing guitar. The digital sensitivity I have acquired as a string musician assists my work. I represent my military unit in the United Way Fundraising charity, which seeks to help disadvantaged people within the local community. My parents have had financial struggles over the years, and I feel an affinity with those suffering similarly. Thus, I find my voluntary endeavors highly satisfying. My professional background and personal characteristics will enable me to add considerable value to the program and assure the reader that I shall apply myself with exceptional diligence and enthusiasm for my fellow students' benefit. I aim to excel rather than merely succeed. To summarize: I have acquired significant general and endodontics experience and training since graduation; I have achieved the status of mentor to other dentists in a short period, demonstrating the trust of my superiors in my professional ability and personality; and I have had the advantage of practical and expert post-graduate training provided by the CAF. However, my most important recommendation is a genuine passion for the specialty and my determination to become an acknowledged expert practitioner and teacher. Thank you for considering my application. Personal Statement Residency Endodontics #dentalresidency #statement #writingservice #endodontics #editing #master #military #korean

  • Sample Disadvantaged Student Status Essay Dental

The disadvantages I have faced with my family are primarily due to being Palestinian, a people expelled from their homeland by force, leading, for most, to great misery and suffering. I was born in Jordan to two parents who were both Palestinian refugees. Fortunately, we were able to immigrate to the US in 2000. Because it is our homeland, I feel deeply connected to Palestine, especially Jerusalem and Gaza. I still have family there and daydream every day of going to Palestine as a dentist and treating those with little-to-no access to dental care. My disadvantaged status is the driving force behind my dream of returning to Palestine as a missionary dentist. My father was born just one year before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 and barely survived the ensuing Arab Israeli War of that year. His father, my grandfather, was a police officer who was killed by the Israeli occupying force when my dad was 11 years old. Thus, overnight, my father found himself the primary wage earner for the entire family at 11, helping to support his four younger siblings and his mother. When my father reached adulthood, he was finally forced to flee Palestine for Jordan and live as a refugee due to the Six-Day War in 1967.  My father wanted to become a doctor but could not afford medical school in Jordan, studying Economics in Lebanon. My family was extremely fortunate to immigrate to the USA in 2000.  My parents left everything they had built in Jordan to come to the United States – thinking about the future education of their five children. Nevertheless, living in the USA was a great struggle for us for many years for economic reasons. My father worked menial jobs at first and was then able to start up his gas station, which, however, failed - money was always tight. My father has been a great inspiration to me because he always struggled to provide us with economic stability and even earned his bachelor's degree in business administration at age 65. My siblings and I have also worked to support each other as a team and my mother. I sometimes reflect on the difficult times that I went through, and it drives me forward to persevere: the day I got my first job as a busboy and felt tempted to eat the food left on the plate by the customers, working at a go-cart track to scrape together the extra money that I needed for school supplies. What money I could pull in went to household bills and groceries. I remember seeing my classmates in the affluent school I attended, who had given so much to them, and I hoped my children would enjoy similar comforts one day. I hope and pray that through my hard work and dedication to my career, my children will not have to grow up as I did, constantly worrying about money and working when they should be studying or learning something of value. I have volunteered numerous hours to help with the MTI mobile dental clinics that serve the underprivileged communities in our area, IMPACT XXU. I have taught teens with special needs and engaged in these efforts to help the underserved prepare for a lifetime - because this provides me with the most incredible sense of satisfaction. I hope to someday go to Palestine as a missionary dentist for long periods, teaching dentistry and helping with sustainable efforts to achieve access to dental care for even the poorest of Palestinians, a mammoth task in such a broken and devastated land that is under a blockade and regularly bombed from the air every several years, making the rebuilding of the country most difficult. I am proud of who I am, as an individual, as a Palestinian-American, and most of all, as the dentist I hope to become. Being granted Disadvantaged Student Status for Dental School will enable me to complete the program and excel; at the same time, devote as much time as possible to helping the underserved and preparing for a lifetime of priority assistance to the underserved while still in dental school and beyond. Nothing will bring me as much satisfaction in the future as helping refugees who made their way to the USA as we did, especially those fleeing war zones in the Middle East with whom I share a first language, Arabic. • International Dentist Personal Statement Oncology

I understood the importance of a simple smile early in my life. My dental imperfections made me a very self-conscious and shy child growing up. Crowded teeth and a love for chocolates made me an early visitor to the dentist. I vividly remember Dr. XXXX, who knew how to handle a scared and shy child like me. An Orthodontist by specialization, he made the procedure so painless and fun that I looked forward to attending his clinic every time. This transformation boosted my confidence, and I felt like a different person with a new, much more favorable appearance. This experience left such a positive imprint on me that dentists became my heroes, and I have seen dentistry as an especially glorious calling ever since. Over time, what was initially a childhood fantasy turned into my reality. Before choosing a career, I volunteered at Dr. XXXX’s clinic to further explore the field after high school. ”Philosophy begins in wonder,” said Plato, and so did my romance with Dentistry. This past year, I have been making a new home with my husband in Chicago and giving my all to learn everything I can about dentistry in the USA. I am an Indian Dentist who is incredibly determined to succeed. India has some of the highest oral cancer rates globally, so I have been heavily engaged for many years now in this struggle. This also helps explain why I married the man that I did, a medical doctor and an oncologist. We spent a lot of time discussing cancer; for us, the struggle against cancer is very romantic- standing at the center of our world. The most significant contribution I can imagine making would be to give my professional life to the study and advancement of dental oncology. Of course, the logical next step is to earn the DDS or DMD degree to have the cutting professional knowledge and education I need to excel. After completing dental school, I hope to pursue a fellowship in Dental Oncology. My extremely high motivation to pursue this area of dentistry was enhanced further by helping my uncle deal with and survive oral cancer – nothing has ever brought me such profound joy as this personal experience in dentistry. I have also volunteered with cancer patients at the AIMS cancer center in India. I am very well-read in radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery for head and neck cancer. Throughout my practice, I have had the privilege of working with underserved populations and have gradually come to understand the complexity of their challenges: an abysmal lack of awareness of the importance of dental hygiene and oral hygiene health care. I am passionate about teaching and research, and I look forward to someday serving in an academic institution where I can balance clinical, education, and research responsibilities. Little is known about the field of Dental Oncology in India. Thus, I aim to organize workshops for dentists in India concerning how to care for these patients. I stay in touch and am involved with the cancer center where I volunteered in India. I look forward at some point to helping establish a specialized dental unit there for underserved populations, especially those hard-hit by oral cancer. I am a competitive applicant for your program because I am an experienced and hard-working dentist with five years of experience in India before coming to America. I feel confident and prepared for the rigors and commitment to succeed in a world-class dental program. Thank you for considering my application. • Pre-Dental Post-Bac Program Personal Statement Help

Now a US citizen, I grew up mostly in our native Yemen. My dentist uncle took me under his wing as a child and taught me the satisfaction gained from service to the weakest among us, especially those suffering from unbearable pain. I come from the poorest country in the Middle East, with the least public health capacity in oral health. Nevertheless, my uncle found the time to treat refugees from Somalia and his regular patients. He is my hero; my honor is built upon my dream of following him in the United States. Dentistry appeals to me because of its breadth: involving aesthetics, pain relief, corrective surgery, and oral and dental disease prevention. I am aware that the aging of the population will have a direct effect on dentistry. I come from a culture where the aged are treated with profound respect. I look forward to working with the elderly, especially those in difficult financial circumstances and underserved communities. I intend to work in an underserved community and do all I can to educate its members on the importance of oral hygiene routines. In High School, I joined programs to prepare me for a career in healthcare provision. The plan included shadowing various health professionals in a hospital and confirming my desire to become a dentist.  I have volunteered in dentists’ offices, observing a wide variety of procedures, understanding the roles of their staff members, and providing general assistance. These experiences have provided me with an excellent basic understanding of dental techniques, the operation of a dentist’s office, and the dental health environment in the US.  I have also undertaken much informal reading about dentistry. I am excited at the rapid and continuing developments in techniques and materials and am keen to assist in the research bringing about these continuing advances. I know many people are reluctant to find themselves in the dentist’s chair out of apprehension and fear of pain. Interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence in patients and empathize with them are as necessary as technical knowledge and skills. I have the natural characteristics to enable me to do so successfully. I have happily studied, worked, and socialized with people of many cultural and social backgrounds. I currently work as a retail manager to support my family during my studies. I was rapidly promoted to this position because my employers recognized various skills and characteristics that I believe are directly applicable to a career in dentistry.  I lead, supervise, motivate, direct, plan, and budget while, most importantly, providing excellent customer service. I know that there will be many well-qualified applicants for the program. However, I consider myself to be an excellent candidate. I have a passionate desire to become a skilled, knowledgeable, and caring dentist, and I have the potential to do so. Thank you for considering my application to your distinguished Pre-Dental, Post-Bac Program. • Indian International Dentist Personal Statement

I was determined to make a difference rather than merely make a living. In dentistry, I have found an excellent way of fulfilling that ambition. My practical training in India was undertaken in rural villages, prisons, and other institutions. I found great satisfaction in turning grimaces of pain into smiles of relief and gratitude. I am also extremely excited to be part of a profession in which techniques and materials are advancing so rapidly for the benefit of patients. I have never regretted my decision to enter dentistry and now seek the skills and knowledge to enable me to practice here in the USA. I graduated, in 2010, from the prestigious Oxford Dental College, Bangalore, India, which has first-class facilities and provides excellent, comprehensive dental training. It has been awarded the highest possible government accreditation for dental training, and entry is highly competitive. Our training included treating rurally based patients at ‘Dental Camps’ from mobile dental clinics. I was exposed to an extensive range of dental conditions during my training, treating patients of all ages and imparting dental and oral hygiene education. This exposure has taught me the importance of applying great care in diagnosing and acquiring and developing this skill to the highest possible degree. The mobile clinic method of reaching patients who would otherwise have gone untreated appeals, and I look forward to additional service in this area. After graduation, I worked as a dentist in two clinics in India for two years. During this time, I extended my experience by undertaking procedures like root canal treatments, crown preparation; composite and amalgam restoration; complete and removable prosthesis preparation, and treatment planning. I also gained experience in clinic fiscal management and overseeing laboratory work. Since coming to the U.S. in 2012, I have qualified and worked as a Dental Assistant. This has provided me with an understanding of the U.S. dental ‘environment’ and allowed me to observe the techniques used by excellent and dedicated dentists. This has also provided me with insight concerning the perspective of the dental assistant and the importance of their role. I have worked as a Dental Assistant for a dentist who uses a mobile clinic to treat the residents of nursing homes in Texas and has thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Taking the clinic to the patient seems to be an excellent way of providing treatment to underserved rural communities, and it is my intention, once qualified to work in the U.S., to operate such a clinic here. I also hope to be able to assist Indian dentists in setting up mobile clinics for rural and isolated communities back home. I intend to spend some time each year providing free work in India throughout my career. I have also been able to ‘shadow’ an expert dentist in the U.S. who has generously given considerable time to my extended informal training in the U.S. I have also attended dental conferences and extensive reading of professional journals to keep abreast of current developments in such a fast-changing professional environment. Before coming to this country, my impression was that the kind of problems I had seen in India would have been rare. I was surprised to discover that neglect of dental health and consequent issues are widespread. I would be interested in assisting in research to identify the most effective ways of educating people in adopting and maintaining a good hygiene regime. I have become aware of cultural differences in attitudes and that immigrant populations here tend to have the same attitude toward dental health as prevailing in their countries of origin. So perhaps the ‘targeting’ of educational resources to populations with the most pronounced problems may be worth considering. I know that technical competence alone is insufficient; it is vital to possess the characteristics that create confidence and trust in patients, especially when complex treatments are necessary. I have happily interacted professionally and socially with people of many ethnic and social backgrounds. I enjoy sharing knowledge of my own culture and learning about others. I get on quickly with colleagues and patients. I am fluent in English, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada and have limited fluency in Telugu and Tamil. I took an active role in extra-curricular activities at Dental School, was elected Secretary of the Sports Society, and held various other offices related to culture and sport. My excellent training, considerable experience, naturally outgoing and empathetic personality, and genuine passion for dentistry will enable me to contribute to the program and become a highly effective and expert professional. • Palestinian International Dentist Personal Statement

The day I found the most incredible clarity about who I am and what I want to accomplish in life was my first day serving on a mobile dental van attending to primarily underserved children in marginalized neighborhoods of our community. My smile was matched only by the children's smile after their treatment was complete and they were returning to playtime with the ordeal over. My sense of fulfillment and profound joy rose from deep within, pervasive in ways I had previously not known possible. Assisting in providing oral health care and treatment to adults in the community on our dental van also delighted me, how happy they were after their teeth were fixed and the confidence resulting from the treatment. Shadowing a local Orthodontist, Dr. XXXX, was another source of confirmation that dentistry was the right choice for me – more amazing smiles and the joy of making people happy and confident. My Palestinian parents were refugees who fled their home to live in Jordan, where I was born. They love to recount how they tried to get me to stop sucking my thumb, putting a bitter Arab root on it so I would kick the habit. I remember the bitter taste even today. However, the bitterroot was no silver bullet, and they even took me to a dentist to help with my thumb sucking, which I later quit on my own. I was more intrigued with dentistry than engaged in my treatment, but this first visit to a dentist made a lasting impression. To be sure, I was experiencing this reassuring connection with a professional who sparked my intrigue. Over time, I realized I wanted to become highly skilled and influential. The hobbies and extracurricular activities I gravitated to during my formative years required solid manual skills and the development of advanced hand-eye coordination. I was enamored with Legos, working on modifiable small-scale R.C. cars, racquet sports, drawing, crocheting, rock climbing, and basketball. I ran a mini barbershop out of my garage in high school, where I used precision and control to yield the perfect cut. I felt immense satisfaction in meticulously using my hands to help my friends look their best and boost confidence. While earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU), in addition to working to pay my expenses, I spent many hours volunteering in the Emergency Room of a local hospital, learning how to develop a variety of approaches to suffering and techniques for consoling patients, especially those who came in because they were suicidal. I learned how to create constructive leadership roles and enjoyed working with our Clinical Research Investigative Studies Program (CRISP) partners. I also volunteered to help promote activities for special needs teens for a program called IMPACT at OSU. With Medical Teams International (MTI)'s Mobile Dental Program, we visited underprivileged areas and rehabilitation centers to provide free dental care. I gained a mentor, Dr. XXXX, who helped me better understand and appreciate dentistry's many ways of being a leader, a teammate, and a friend. Assisting with dental procedures for patients of all ages and backgrounds – their gratitude was uplifting and moving. I also focused on inspiring the children I worked with by encouraging them to pursue their dreams. I kept returning not to accumulate hours but because I enjoyed being an integral part of the dental team, working closely with experienced dentists, and building on my professional relationships. I seek to become a leader in my community and the dental profession, especially concerning my efforts to organize dental missions to my land of origin, the Palestinian territories. I also want to help refugees in America access adequate oral health. Innovative, creative, very environmentally friendly, and most Internet savvy, I look forward to many decades to come harnessing the power of Internet-based and apps technology and social media to increase access and quality of care for the marginalized and underserved in greatest need. • Sample Letter of Recommendation for Dental School

Dear Program Director, My name is XXXX, DMD, and I am the Postdoctoral Director for Periodontics at the XXXX School of Dental Medicine. I am also a former president of the XXXX Dental Association. I have been teaching Dentistry at XXXX for the past 30 years. Very seldom have I seen anyone learn as quickly and develop such a grasp early on of the interdisciplinary nature of our profession as Dr. XXXX. Thus, I am pleased to recommend XXXX for your Accelerated Dental Program at XXXX University. XXXX served as a resident under my direct supervision. His enormous capacity and dedication to his patients impressed me so much that I made him our Chief Resident in 2015-2016. For example, he worked closely with me, making schedules for pg - periodontics. I could not be more confident that XXXX has the qualities to excel in a DDS Program. I also highly recommended him for his current teaching position as an Assistant Professor of Periodontics at the XXXX School of Dentistry. I first met XXXX when he was my student in Periodontics. When I made him Chief Resident during his third year, I got to know him incredibly well since I always supervised our chief residents closely. Since then, I have enjoyed listening to his reports of teaching experiences as an Assistant Professor. XXXX has the knowledge and clinical skills to become a leader in dentistry and will prove an asset to the doctoral program that selects him. In addition to considerable intellect and exemplary performance on standardized examinations, Dr. XXXX is a warm, highly articulate, and engaging individual who teaches others by example, is inclusive and consistent, exudes curiosity, and is keenly motivated to learn new things. He has arrived at the clinic multiple times with handouts on relevant clinical topics tailored to our team. He has been described as one of the best chief residents we have ever had by some of our colleagues, which was why he was invited, for example, to give a presentation at the Zimmer Institute. His production was outstanding – comprehensive in scope yet efficient in delivery. I also heard about his presentation at the North East Implant Symposium and Tri-school Dental Meeting in New York. XXXX is clearly in the top 5% of all Dental students I have worked with over the past 30 + years. If you have any additional questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me. • Endodontics Certificate Personal Statement

Born and raised in Vietnam, I immigrated to California and graduated from UXX as a dental hygienist, spending the next six years working there. Then, I went to dental school to become a dentist. Since May 2016, I have been practicing general dentistry and preparing myself for extraordinary effort and excellence in Endodontics. I hope to become part of your outstanding Endodontics team and earn my Certification in Endodontics, making it my lifelong specialty. Returning to Vietnam as a dentist, participating in a dental mission, and providing free primary care to the underserved was a profound honor. I see this trip as the first of many. I have much to give to dental missionary work in Vietnam, since Vietnamese is my native language, and I am most useful on a mission there as a communicator. On my last trip, I witnessed many young and older adults coming in with desperately decayed teeth. Still, most of these teeth could have been saved rather than extracted. It saddened me greatly that we were unable to keep those teeth. This experience left me still more motivated to excel in Endodontics as my area of professional specialization in Dentistry to balance my professional life. I have been actively engaged in research since my days as a student of dental hygiene, and then during dental school, studying musculoskeletal disorders among dental professionals, for example, in support of Dr. XXXX, an expert in the field of physical therapy – working with data, literature reviews and compiling lists with descriptions of strengthening exercises that help to counteract daily pain experienced by dental professionals. Beginning in dental school, I increasingly developed a special passion for Endodontics. I hope to contribute all that I can to the profession through research, lifelong learning, and constant striving for clinical excellence. I also plan to dedicate as much time as possible to the underserved members of my community. In addition to serving as a volunteer Teaching Assistant for a Periodontics module with Dr. XXXX and a pre-clinical composite restoration class with Dr. XXXX, I completed numerous continuing education courses, spending all weekend studying subjects ranging from esthetic restoration and implant dentistry to Periodontics and most importantly, Endodontics. This will help to ensure that I provide my patients with up-to-date care. While working as a dental hygienist, I collaborated closely with several dental companies (Henry Schein, Colgate, etc.) to donate toothbrushes and toothpaste, which I brought to orphanages in the rural South of Vietnam by providing instruction to the children. I also worked closely with AYUDA International, an organization from UXX that delivered dental care to the Developing World. I traveled to Mexico, Peru, and Fiji with AYUDA to provide dental care to needy people. Seeing how this organization mobilized and motivated individuals to help others is inspiring. I also started the Professional Allied Club. We achieved our goal of providing resources, interview tips, and study management for the dental hygiene students at UXX interested in applying for dental school. I prioritize being an example of hard work, diligence, and dedication to research. I learned many valuable things as a dental hygiene practitioner for six years before dental school. Always show respect for team members, be supportive, and be upbeat. I yearn to be selected to become part of that team, an endodontist – a specialist in saving teeth. I have long engaged in sports, from swimming to triathlon, throughout high school to college; therefore, I understand the importance of teamwork and its impact on everything in our life. As a dental hygiene team leader at XXXX Dental Group, working alongside Dr. XXXX, I had the opportunity to work with an incredibly excellent team to deliver the utmost care to our patients; and we exceeded the office quotas month after month. During my six years with the team, we made noteworthy progress and achieved an extremely elevated level of well-synchronized efficiency. We were nominated as the office of the year for two years, and I was awarded the Laser Cup Trophy for winning in the region’s competition. I will never forget that moment, not only for my abilities as a team leader but also for the accomplishment that resulted from our collective efforts. Becoming successful as a dentist in private practice has also inspired me to set the bar high and distinguish myself in Endodontics. My goal in a residency program is to learn about state-of-the-art techniques, approaches, and best practices. I could not be more dedicated to achieving excellence in endodontic pulpal therapy and endodontic pulpal therapy, and I look forward to giving my all as part of your team. Thank you for considering my application. Endodontics Certificate Personal Statement #endodontics #personalstatement

  • International Dentist Personal Statement Service Help

I am a woman from India who completed my Bachelor of Dental Sciences Degree. A highly dedicated dentistry professional, I look forward to researching the future of oral and maxillofacial surgery, OMFS. My long-term professional goal is to have my dental practice where I labor mightily each day to put a smile on my patients' faces. This is where I attain my dignity, satisfaction, and pride. I also look forward to working extremely hard as a community member, engaging in volunteer activities that raise awareness concerning the importance of maintaining one’s oral health. I want to devote as much energy as possible to assisting low-income people in getting appropriate dental care. My extensive experience in dentistry began while I was in high school, shadowing my uncle, who is a dentist. While in dental school, I worked under the supervision of one of my professors as an assistant dentist, completing a 1-year internship. After graduation, I worked as a junior dentist in a private clinic in Hyderabad for 15 months. My experience as a volunteer includes working with the mentally disabled at the XXXX Institute and helping to conduct numerous dental camps in rural areas while still a student. I have also devoted countless hours to the Red Cross, both in India and USA. I work as a volunteer assistant at a blood donation center in XXXX, MO. My experiences have taught me to adapt to various professional contexts and challenges. My pride is centered on my compassion, and the patient's confidence is what I most prize. I want very much to devote my life to the cause of promoting oral health awareness and working selflessly for the betterment of the members of my community. I want to be a well-connected dentist with networks of like-minded professionals devoted to dental camps, missions, and other volunteer efforts. As a dentistry student in India, I cared for those patients who lived in some of the most poverty-stricken rings of misery surrounding Indian cities. Each day was an intense learning experience that helped me grow enormously on a human level in response to the magnitude of the challenges. During my last two years of study, I had the opportunity to work in rural areas with exceptionally low levels of oral health awareness, coming across many people who did not even know what toothpaste was and had never seen a dentist even once in their entire lives. Community service provides my life with its meaning. I thrive as a human being on the expression of love and compassion. I want to prepare myself for practicing dentistry here in my new community. Since I arrived in the USA a little over a year ago, I have taken several online courses to return to Dental School here in America and prepare for the NBDE. I was a recognized leader among my peers in dental school in India. This is why I was one of only a few students to be later appointed as a faculty member, in my case, in Oral Medicine & Radiology. Before and after my graduation, I was heavily engaged in organizing various programs, all devoted to raising awareness of the importance of oral health and hygiene. I look forward to giving my all to your distinguished program so that I might continue to excel in my chosen field here in America. I thank you for considering my application to your program. • International Dentist Personal Statement

I am a dentist from India who now lives in the USA, and I want to prepare myself for success in dentistry in my new country. I grew up in Kerala, India, where I had an uncle and a cousin who were dentists, and I used to go to their dental offices to observe. Soon, I learned how to help a little bit at their practices, and before long, I was learning how to deal with various dental issues while still incredibly young. I learned early on the importance of effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. In part, I came to the United States due to my marriage. Now, however, I am going through a divorce. But I have fallen in love with America and, most notably, the goal of practicing dentistry here in the country where that practice is most advanced. I finished my internship in India in 1998 and then worked as an Associate in the Oral Medicine Department of the dental college from which I graduated. I also worked for several months at a dental office in Kerala until I left for Saudi Arabia in 2000 and began working in a public hospital. This experience gave me vast exposure to diversity in patients and dental issues. I later joined a polyclinic in Saudi Arabia until I returned to India for one year, from 2003 to 2004. I had the invaluable opportunity to work with a team of implantologists. I returned to my polyclinic in Saudi Arabia, working from 2004 through 2008. I then volunteered in Bangalore for dental camps and immigrated to the USA in March 2009. While caring for my son, who is now ten, I volunteered at two dental offices. At 39, I can finally pursue my professional dream without distractions. As one of the most mature students in your program, I will seek to excel based on my extensive experience in the field. I passed Part 1 of the NBDE with a score of 77 and will appear for Part 2 in March and the TOEFL in February. Along with Hindi, Malayalam, and English, I also speak, read, and write Tamil and Arabic. My long-term goal is to establish my dentistry practice here in America and cater primarily to those members of a large urban community that speak these languages. Practicing dentistry in Saudi Arabia off and on for four to five years was incredibly challenging. Throughout the experience, I found great satisfaction in my improved ability to please my patients in Arabic. I am susceptible to multicultural and multilingual experiences and challenges because of this experience. I worked primarily with dental emergencies for my first year, which was incredibly challenging. Nevertheless, I persevered and even excelled at fulfilling my responsibilities. My long-term interest in the poor and oppressed, refugees, recent immigrants with scarce resources, and undocumented people also took off earnestly during my stay in Saudi Arabia. I did not treat the Saudi elite; I treated everyone from guest workers to indigents. Most of my patients were unaware of their poor oral hygiene, yet they wished to escape pain and were extremely concerned about how they would pay for their dental care. My patients in the KSA considered dental care a luxury, something that did not readily correspond to their social station. Many also suffered from at least one other medical condition, usually undiagnosed, that impacted their oral health. Over the last several years, since arriving in the USA and volunteering at two dental offices, I have also volunteered to help in remote areas for medical camps in Sacramento and Oakland in 2011. I also volunteered for many dental bases in Saudi Arabia and India since it is my volunteer work that I find most satisfying. I am especially drawn to prevention, so I helped organize dental check-up camps. These activities are foundations upon which I want to continue to build to balance my professional life, working as a dentist until I can no longer do so. The most significant contribution I could make to society would be to understand my patients' emotions, help them during a crisis and become a top-notch dental practitioner who is well-versed with all the latest techniques and exceedingly kind and friendly. I hope very much to be admitted to your program for international dentists. Dozens of dentists have encouraged me, especially those that I met at dental camps. I have stayed abreast of current developments in my field partly through an extensive network of colleagues I have built up, mostly here in America. I did not make as much progress professionally as I would have liked since being here in America. Much of this involves being a domestic violence victim and landing in a transitional home, trying to shield my son. We are free; I am divorced and have no baggage to drag me down. My son supports me in my endeavors, and I can now devote even more energy to dentistry than I have ever done before. As a result of heightened discipline, organization, and passion, I can excel in your program. I also dream of giving long stints of my professional life to full-time research into oral cancer. I have matured enormously and achieved a solid scientific background with a stable trajectory of clinical exposure for many years. I am dedicated to serving the needs of the most vulnerable among us. I thank you for considering my application to your program. • Colombian to Dental School Multicultural

Sometimes I dream about getting accepted to dental school - or, more frequently, nightmares about rejection. I have great hope for several reasons. First, I am Hispanic and not just bilingual but also bicultural since I grew up in Colombia. Second, I have distinguished myself in volunteering at a local homeless shelter, in the kitchen, and countless hours invested in Autism consciousness-raising events, primarily setting things up and taking them down. The center of my world is my community involvement and contribution. Dentistry is my chosen path. Born in Medellin, Colombia, I lived there for ten years before moving to Miami; my family is from Colombia.  Graduating from high school in 2009 and earning my college degree in Biology in 2015, I have distinguished myself most of all as a very enthusiastic volunteer, primarily at XXXX House, a community shelter and kitchen for the homeless, along with helping with a wide variety of charity events directed primarily to the Spanish-speaking community. I have many Cuban and Colombian friends in Miami and have learned much about the Caribbean. This is what I love most about Miami, the Hispanic, Spanish-speaking community. In college, I was highly active with the Pre-Dental Club, and I feel strongly that these efforts have enabled me to learn many things that will be of terrific value to my pursuit of a career in dentistry. I am open to learning new things and take the time to listen to everything people have to say, always keeping an open mind. I have pride but know when to leave it at the door; I am always humble and cheerful; I strive to be gracious and learn from my mistakes. I made the Dean's List for 4 of my eight semesters. However, my greatest weakness as an applicant is still probably my GPA. It would have been much higher if not because a close family member in the fall semester of 2013 was murdered in Colombia. The entire family relied on me for support during this very rough period. That caused my grades to drop to a 2.5 GPA for that semester since I ended up with a D in Organic Chemistry. Nevertheless, I graduated with a 3.45 GPA and earned a DAT of 21, which speaks to my tenacity under pressure. Since Junior High School, I have been telling everyone that I want to become a dentist, and all my family members and friends have always supported that dream. Ten years from now, I see myself as a hard-working orthodontist who is heavily engaged in caring for disadvantaged youth – constantly giving something back to my community. I look forward to having a family and excelling as a husband, father, and dentist. I want my parents and the rest of our community to be proud of me. Neither of my parents ever attended college, and I am only the second member of my extended family to do so. I will be the first to pursue a professional degree. My parents were wonderful in many ways, particularly as they showed me much of the world growing up. This has helped me cultivate great multicultural sensitivity and empathy, tending to think of myself as a global citizen. We visited Japan, China, India, Israel, Egypt, Poland, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain as I grew up and stayed in most places for weeks. I am good at Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, Basketball, and Soccer, and have participated in numerous team tournaments. I go to the gym and run marathons. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I won first place in a video game fight due to my advanced hand-eye coordination. My ultimate dream for the long term is to spend my final decades back in Colombia running a mobile dental clinic with a particular orientation toward helping the underserved in remote areas. I am curious what kind of 4-wheel drive vehicles might be available in another 20 to 30 years, solar-powered. I most love dentistry because of its globalization and sense of humanitarian mission. The fact that the underserved in Colombia matter to the North American dental community makes me feel most happy to be alive at the beginning of the 21st century. My country Colombia is now signing peace accords and working hard to build a civil society that is less violent. Little by little, I want to spend increasing my time in solidarity with the dental profession in Colombia, studying, observing, helping for the long term, and building a peaceful Colombia where all people are cared for regarding their oral health. Thank you for considering my application to become the finest dentist possible with a big heart and boundless joy.
