  • International Dentist Program Writing & Editing Service

I am a young woman from India who is highly devoted to dentistry. My initial experience in oral health began in high school, working at a hospital. Soon, I became extremely passionate about the science of dentistry because of how it so radically improved the lives of our patients, giving them greater confidence and self-esteem. I also realized that dentists are excellent communicators and can build invaluable, meaningful relationships with their patients and the community. At this point, early on, I set my site on becoming a dentist. My dreams became a reality when I began dental school. My professors were excellent teachers and gave me a solid foundation; I excelled in dental school because of my keen interest and profound dedication to my studies. Each day was an intense learning experience that helped me grow enormously on a human and professional level in response to the magnitude of the challenges. During my last two years of study, I learned how to think more creatively and independently; at the same time, I became increasingly aware of the particularly critical importance of the preventive aspect of dentistry, especially in a country such as India with its enormous poverty and lack of adequate public health education programs, especially concerning oral health. Upon graduating, I worked as an Associate Dentist, further sharpening my abilities and gaining extensive experience in the private healthcare sector. The most important thing I took away from this experience was my solid moral conviction that each patient deserves quality care, irrespective of their ability to pay for it. Soon, I became deeply involved in preventive dentistry, volunteering to work in numerous dental camps, including some that served the mentally ill. I worked especially hard to convert my ideas into concrete goals, many of which I realized due to my determination. Many of my peers were very encouraging, complimenting me for my initiative, hard work, and development of leadership skills. For these reasons, I was chosen among many applicants to serve as a graduate tutor in Oral Medicine and Radiology. To this day, now living in America, I remain passionately devoted to the cause of raising awareness of the importance of oral health and hygiene. Since I arrived in the USA a little over a year ago, I have been committed to continuing my education in dentistry, working towards obtaining certifications, and spending vast amounts of time acquiring valuable experience by shadowing several dentists. In this way, I have already learned much about how dentistry is practiced in America. Volunteering at community health centers has given me opportunities to serve and better understand and adapt to my new community. My short-term objective is to be admitted to and subsequently excel in a program for international dentists. My long-term goal is to become a highly competent dentist licensed to practice in the US. I keenly look forward to the opportunity to enhance my skills as a general dentist, becoming thoroughly proficient in all aspects of dentistry. I would like to have my private practice where I labor mightily each day to put a smile on my patients’ faces. I want to have the privilege of teaching dentistry in the future, returning to India for this purpose for extensive periods. I keenly look forward to participating in dental programs in developing countries. This would be the most satisfying experience that I could imagine. I derive my sense of dignity and fulfillment from my compassion, and earning the confidence of my patients will always be my most prized accomplishment. My experiences have enabled me to adapt successfully to various professional contexts and challenges. I have a hardworking nature, strong moral values, determination, and a profound passion for community service. I look forward to giving my all to your distinguished program so that I might continue to excel in my chosen field. • Letter of Recommendation by Chief Dentist Example

To Whom It May Concern, I have educated many students as a full professor in the School of Stomatology at XXXX University and as a Chief Dentist at XXXX Hospital in China. Very few stand out in my mind as much as Dr. XXXX. I could not recommend him more heartily as an applicant to your international dentist program. I also serve as a committee member for the International Association of Dental XXXX, as Vice-Chairman of the Oral Emergency Specialty of the Chinese Association of Dental XXXX, and as a Standing Committee in Emergency Medicine member at XXXX University. Before 2012, I was the Director of the Emergency Department of the XXXX Hospital in Beijing for twelve years. I had an opportunity to supervise Dr. XXXX since he practiced general dentistry in our department. Dr. XXXX practiced general dentistry in our department from 2001 to 2007, including night shifts during weekdays and daytime shifts on weekends. Due to the shortage of dental care in China, our department also provides service for outpatients without emergency conditions during the daytime. He could practice all aspects of general dentistry while working with us, providing regular and urgent care. I got to know this young dentist well during our seven years together. Dr. XXXX is a highly diligent, dedicated, and responsible professional with great enthusiasm and compassion for his patients. His hard-working and warm-hearted qualities are well known in our department. After finishing his routine work at the Center for Salivary Gland Diseases and our Department of Oral Radiology, Dr. XXXX worked in our department, covering the night shift from 4 to 9 pm several times each week. Whenever many urgent cases were pending and patients waiting for treatment, Dr. XXXX stayed long into the night. The other staff in our department referred to him as the “ironman.” His passion for learning new techniques and skills impressed me the most. When our department started using rotary instruments for root canal preparation, he was among the first group to master the instrument. Dr. XXXX has a humble quality that makes patients feel at ease. These hard years of practice have made him a mature, determined, and dedicated professional. Dr. XX is on track to have a most impressive career. Without reservation, I recommend him for an internationally trained dentist position in your advanced standing program. I would be happy to provide you with any additional information. • Letter of Recommendation OMFS Writing Service

To Whom It May Concern: Few of my students have shown so brightly as Dr. XXXX. Therefore, I could not recommend him more highly for acceptance to an advanced standing program for international dentists. As a full oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Radiology professor, I have been Vice President of XXXX University since 2005. I have served as Associate Dean of the School of Stomatology at XXXX University. I also served as Associate Dean of XXXX Hospital for six years until 2005. Both the school and the hospital rank among the top ten in China. As Dr. XXXX’s supervisor and mentor during his internships and then his master's and Ph.D. programs, I got to know Dr. XXXX very well. I am convinced that he is a highly diligent, dedicated, intelligent dentist, dental educator, and researcher, and he would be an asset to your program. I first met XXXX when he was a student in my oral and maxillofacial surgery class in 1998. I was deeply impressed by his initiative and dedication to the courses that I taught. One day, I was most impressed when he asked me about a clinical case of Sjogren's Syndrome that he was reading about in the Journal of the American Dental Association. He was a proactive and independent thinker with a great passion for his work. The questions he submitted were original during his clinical internship, and he was always persistent until finding the correct answer. Due to his intellectual capacity and continuous efforts, he won multiple scholarships throughout his study at XXXX University; and was ranked third in his class of twenty-six at graduation. Based on Dr. XXXX’s outstanding academic performance and comprehensive clinical capacity, I decided to recruit him as a clinical and research team member to fully train as an oral surgeon with an advanced understanding of salivary gland diseases and a distinguished oral radiologist, teacher, and researcher. Dr. XXXX exhibited high skills, critical thinking, and self-motivation as expected. When we worked together, I witnessed the open-minded, intelligent, and responsible person he is and his impressive development journey in this field, from a complete novice into a mature and determined professional. In as little as two years, he was able to systematically master the principle, knowledge, and skills needed for diagnosing and treating salivary gland diseases and imaging diagnoses of various oral and maxillofacial diseases. When I introduced sialendoscopy into our Center for Salivary Gland Diseases at XXXX Hospital in 2001, Dr. XXXX was extremely excited about this novel technology and immediately began to explore its function and application, using it to diagnose and treat hundreds of patients effectively. After years of practicing, he gained extensive clinical experience with many rare clinical cases for future use as teaching resources. To better serve the community, he summarized his first-hand clinical materials and experiences and published two book chapters and two papers as first author and five as co-author. XXXX always shows extreme patience and sympathy for the most appropriate treatment plan when working with patients. As a dental educator, he imparted to students his broader knowledge and contagious career enthusiasm, which was fully reflected by his winning the “Colgate Scholarship for Outstanding Teacher” in our dental school. Dr. XXXX exhibited significant cooperative and collaborative spirit and strong teamwork skills with group assignments; his warm-hearted, thoughtful, and easy-going personality made him popular among his colleagues. When XXXX was a Ph.D. student, he was selected for and enrolled in a collaborative research program with the University of XXXX (UXX) School of Dentistry in the U.S. After three years of research training, he earned his Ph.D. and now has three published articles, including two first authored and one co-authored. Dr. XXXX has made significant leaps and bounds in his career development in craniofacial developmental biology, refining, maturing, and perfecting his skills and capabilities as an outstanding researcher. As his mentor, I was most proud of his research achievements in the U.S. He won the "Innovative Scientific Achievement Award" at UXX. I was appointed Assistant Professor of Research at UXX in 2017. I am highly confident in XXXX’s ability to rank among the top students in his class if he is selected for an IDP Program. Please feel free to contact me if I can provide further information. As a practicing dentist and a clinical assistant professor at the XXXX School of Dentistry at the University of XXXX (UXX), I have known Dr. XXXX for ten years. Dr. XXXX has known for some time that he wants to integrate his career in dentistry with dental research and education. • AEGD Residency Personal Statement Example Help

I hope to be accepted to your exceptional Community-Based AEGD Program in XXXX Florida to become licensed to practice dentistry in Florida, where I live with my family. While born in the United States, my family is from Yemen, and I was raised and attended school there and in the USA. I am thankful for this since it enabled me to become fully bicultural and bilingual, speak both English and Arabic at the native or near-native level, understand several cultures, and be aware of and empathize with the underserved. I look forward to contributing to the diversity of your program as a dentist from a nation in great need of solidarity from the global oral health community. Given the current political situation of the all-out war, I am afraid to return to Yemen. Still, I dream of returning at some point in the future as a dental missionary once it is safe to do so. We moved from the USA to Yemen when I was five and stayed there for seven years. I also spent four formative years growing up in Qatar from 1997 through 2001 and Egypt from 2004 through 2011. We live in XXXX County, Florida, USA, and I am thrilled to be here. Now, as a dentist with a great deal of experience and awareness of several Arab countries, Qatar and Egypt, as well as Yemen, I especially look forward to treating immigrants from the Middle East here in Florida who prefer to have a dentist who will care for their oral health needs and educate them in their mother tongue. I am grateful to have also spent three months in Canada in 2003 and again in 2011 for another two months. My travels have helped me appreciate the interconnected nature of global dentistry and its mission. I also spent two weeks in Syria in 2010, and my heart bleeds for the devastation of this country as it does for Yemen. In both conflicts, the civilians bear the cost, and dentists flee because the oral health care infrastructure is destroyed. I earned my honorary DDS at the University of Cairo, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, in May 2009 and then served for the next five years as a full-time dentist, first in Egypt and then in Yemen. I have mastered a variety of basic dental procedures and have extensive experience in dental emergencies, fixed Prosthodontics, and treating disabled or disabled patients. I was thrilled to work in a small town in Yemen and serve the community as part of a dental team. My employer was a Professor at Sana'a University who made it possible for us to attend to even the most vulnerable community members. We left Yemen for security reasons in 2015. Now, I hope to practice dentistry in Florida. • Prosthodontics Residency Personal Statement

I have a highly developed esthetic sense that arose outside of dentistry and initially showed itself when I was involved in an interior design project. While working on a residential housing project in Kuwait, I became fascinated with how an eye for detail, careful planning, the use and combination of suitable and compatible materials, and the cooperation of various professions could provide functional, pleasing, and healthy environments. From the moment I began my dental training, the aesthetic aspects of dentistry naturally became a particular interest. A good smile is of enormous assistance in enhancing personal confidence and the ability to form positive relationships. Providing such a smile beneficially affects lives, which provides a level of satisfaction that I cannot imagine in any other career. During my training and current residency, I have acquired as much exposure to prosthodontics as possible since I have known for years that this would be my specialization as a dentist. I have collaborated with highly experienced and dedicated dentists and prosthodontists. This experience has provided technical knowledge and inspiring examples of dedication and professional excellence that I will always seek to emulate. I understand that esthetics is only one aspect of the specialty. An excellent prosthodontist must desire to help others, but the desire alone is inadequate. He must be a highly trained technician, ready to look at every treatment as unique in its technical challenges and in the patient's uniqueness, who is more than a set of X-rays, a list of symptoms, and a treatment plan. He is an excellent collaborator and leader, ready to share and receive opinions and insights. He is a great communicator who can inspire trust and confidence in his patients and staff to explain complex plans in simple language. He appreciates innovation and has the enthusiasm and curiosity to keep abreast of a field in which new techniques and materials are constantly evolving and tries to add to the sum of common knowledge of the specialty for the benefit of all. But most of all, he is determined to relieve discomfort and restore or create smiles, a pleasing appearance, dietary choices, and self-confidence in his patients. He derives enormous satisfaction from doing so. I would not be making this application if I were not confident that I have the enthusiasm, drive, and potential to become an excellent practitioner in this vital specialty. I hope to be involved in the clinical application of evidence-based innovation and quality research, especially in occlusion, implants, new materials, and computerized dentistry. I am excited at the prospect of practicing a specialty where new techniques and materials are being developed and applied rapidly to benefit many. I hope to assist in further research, especially in those areas of particular interest to me. I know that cross-disciplinary cooperation is a significant feature of the specialty. I have happily studied, worked with, and treated people of many ethnic and social backgrounds. I am amiable, relate well with colleagues and patients, and continually seek to prioritize the patient. I enjoy sharing knowledge about my own culture and acquiring knowledge about others. I speak Arabic and English and am widely traveled. I have devoted substantial time to various volunteer projects throughout my training and dental residency in the US and abroad. This has provided me with exposure to supplementary dental training and specialisms as well as being a humbling experience that has persuaded me to devote some of my time and skills to the underprivileged and underserved throughout my career, especially children who have suffered congenital disabilities or accidents affecting their appearance and ability to speak or eat with ease. I have some teaching experience which I have thoroughly enjoyed. It was a privilege to have been trusted with these roles and to have been able to share my knowledge. I have carefully noted the techniques applied and characteristics displayed by the most influential teachers in my academic career, and I always seek to emulate them. I have observed that passion is infectious and that the finest teachers derive the most excellent satisfaction from their work. I aim to acquire the highest prosthodontic skills, knowledge, and experience to prepare me for practice, research, and teaching the specialty. Thank you for considering my application. • Residency Personal Statement Help Prosthodontics

One great advantage of wanting to do something with an obscure job title is that questions are often posed: ‘What IS a prosthodontist?’ I offer short replies so as not to bore enquirers. Still, these questions present practical and constant challenges in carefully considering accurate and satisfying answers for my purposes. I give them here, among other relevant information, in support of my application for a residency position. A good prosthodontist desires to help others, but the desire to help is entirely inadequate. He must be an excellent and highly trained technician, ready to look at every treatment as unique in its technical challenges and in the patient's uniqueness, who is more than a set of X-rays, a list of symptoms, and a treatment plan. The successful prosthodontist is an excellent collaborator and leader, ready to share and receive opinions and insights. He is a great communicator who can inspire trust and confidence in his patients and staff and explain complex plans in simple language. He appreciates innovation and has the enthusiasm and curiosity to keep abreast of a field in which new techniques and materials are constantly evolving and tries to add to the sum of common knowledge of the specialty for the benefit of all. But most of all, he is determined to restore smiles, a pleasing appearance, dietary choices, and confidence in his patients, from which he derives enormous satisfaction. I seek to enhance my skill and knowledge to practice, research and teach Prosthodontics. I want to create videos to provide general and specialist dental education to supplement dental training. I have participated in dental education programs in underserved communities. I thoroughly enjoy teaching; I have always carefully noted and sought to emulate the techniques and characteristics of my most influential teachers, especially the prosthodontists. During my degree program, I was invited to assist in a research project on the degree of awareness of gingival diseases and their relation to unhealthy habits among the Egyptian population. Our results were published at the 15th International Dental Congress in Cairo. This exposed me to the processes involved and demonstrated the planning and analytical skills involved in practical research and the personal characteristics of determination, patience, and diligence. I am especially interested in researching dental material sciences and digital dentistry. Following graduation from dental school in 2012, I undertook a year-long clinical internship at the Modern Science and Arts University in Cairo. I was allowed to decide about the departments to invest my clinical time in. I spent a month in endodontics, then a month in Orthodontics, followed by a month in the restorative clinic. I became fascinated by the clinic's work because of the dramatic results achieved and the complexity of the process. So, I spent the remaining nine months of the internship in the Prosthodontics Department. I gained extensive experience in dealing with increasingly complex cases. The more complex an issue was, the more excited I was to be involved. To reach an optimum conclusion, I relished the challenges and planning process and collected the necessary biomechanics, material sciences, physics, esthetics, and biology information. My internship was followed by a year as a general dentist in a hospital in Saudi Arabia. I sought as much exposure to the specialty as possible during this time.  From July 2014 to the present, I have undertaken a ‘foreign externship’ in orthodontics at XXXX University and a traineeship in a dental laboratory. I have also supplemented my specialty knowledge by reading professional journals and attending relevant conferences and seminars. These programs have been highly profitable in extending and deepening my specialist technical expertise. I know that cross-disciplinary cooperation is a significant feature of the specialty. I have happily studied, worked with, and treated people of many ethnic and social backgrounds. I am amiable, relate well with patients, and consistently seek to put them first. I speak Arabic and English. I enjoy sharing knowledge about my own culture and acquiring knowledge about others. I have acquired considerable experience in the specialty; I have research and teaching experience; I possess the characteristics required of an excellent researcher, practitioner, and teacher; however, my main recommendation is a genuine passion for the specialty and for becoming highly expert within it, for the benefit of many. • African Prosthodontist Personal Statement MPH

I realize many Indian dentists are applying for Advanced Placement programs for International Dentist Programs in the USA. Many, like me, have considerable experience practicing dentistry in India before immigrating to America. Most, I assume, have also struggled to prepare themselves to be selected for your program by engaging with dentistry here in the USA to the extent to which they have had the opportunity to do so - as I have done. In my case, however, I hope to be selected because I have extensive African experience, which has been fundamental to developing my professional identity and my quest to help the underserved. I spent two of my formative years in Tanzania, which left an indelible impression on my professional identity as a dentist. I dream of returning to Africa after earning my DDS Degree and engaging professionally with oral health in Tanzania. This is integral to my professional vision, helping the underserved in some of the most underdeveloped parts of the Global South. Because of my extensive clinical experience in dentistry, I am convinced that I can hit the ground running in your program. I have recently participated in several clinical research projects at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where I have also recently earned an MPH Degree. My records demonstrate that I am hardworking, dedicated, focused, amiable, and an outstanding team player. If selected for your DDS/DMD Program, I will give 100% to honor the mission. I lived in Tanzania for two years as an adolescent, accompanying my father, who served as a physician. I often accompanied him on his rounds when I was not in school. This experience shaped the life that would follow, both in my love for health care and my passion for Africa, where there is a significant shortage of dental professionals. I keenly look forward to participating in developing preventive treatments, including sealant application, temporary teeth restoration using GIC cement, extractions, and hand scaling. I pay close attention to how multiple treatments can take place on the same day, collaborating with other dental professionals to expedite treatment plans for the large groups of patients who come to dental camps in Africa when available. I hope to spend much of my time visiting schools and community centers in Africa, educating all age groups concerning oral cavity health, bringing teeth models, and teaching brushing techniques. My concern with the underserved is also not limited to Africa. I have been impressed by the significant needs closer to home as a participant in free dental camps here in the US, noting how low-income people drove hundreds of miles for the treatment. While poverty is widespread in our native India, I saw a vast difference between people in Tanzania and those in India as I accompanied my father to medical check-up camps. The illiteracy rate was much higher in Tanzania, and people were even less aware of the issues and less able to afford treatment. I closely observed dentists who worked alongside my father, a doctor, and could not have been more impressed with their heroic achievements against all odds. It was here that I first felt my calling to dentistry. I look forward to several additional years of full-time practice in general dentistry after earning my DDS/DMD, after which I plan to specialize in Prosthodontics. I look forward to playing a part in fostering preventive care, engaging in innovative research for caries management that would positively affect various populations, and working with various non-governmental organizations and missions of mercy to make dental care accessible to the underserved. My long-term career goal is to end up in the academic world, passing on the forefront of dentistry to the next generations. I imagine myself as an academician in Prosthodontics at some point. I always seek to maintain a remarkable fluency and currency concerning our field's technological aspect. I look forward to training dentists for implant surgery under general anesthesia. As part of my MPH Program, my involvement in several clinical research projects at the University of North Texas Health Science Center has helped me make vast strides in my research skills and advance enormously as a creative and interdisciplinary thinker in dentistry. I would be most grateful for this opportunity to prove myself to your program. Thank you for considering my application for this competitive position. • International Dentist Shadowing a Prosthodontist

Since finishing dental school in my native India earlier this year, 2016, I have been researching ways to advance my academic career and acquire additional clinical experience. As a dental student, I worked extremely hard helping to organize dental camps with screenings and treatment in rural areas, along with my friends from dental school. We held diagnostic and oral prophylaxis camps in government-sponsored schools for poor children, health camps, anti-tobacco drives, etc. During my internship with the Department of Public Dentistry, I assisted my Principal, Dr. XXXXX, and the Director of Public Health Dentistry, Dr. XXXX, in their noble initiative of adopting a village: XXXX. We took care of all the villagers' oral health care needs. We conducted awareness programs to educate the general population on the proper brushing technique. Since graduation one year ago, I have been working in a clinic. My long-term objectives include establishing a dental clinic in India that caters to the needs of poor working people, making my clinic a pilot experiment that seeks to become sustainable while we attend to everyone who walks through the door. The first pilot clinic will be located strategically to be accessible to large rural areas of the country that lack oral health care resources. Earning the DDS Degree will help me realize this goal, becoming a fully international dentist with a terminal degree in my field from the USA. This will provide me with the tools and professional maturity to make my maximum contribution to the underserved. Playing with dummy stethoscopes and plastic surgical knives as a toddler, I have wanted to become a health care professional for as long as I can remember. By early adolescence, I wanted to become a surgeon, and by the time I was in High School, I knew that I would choose and give my all to the most challenging surgery of all, oral surgery. I began to see patients in my 3rd year of dentistry on my clinical rotations when I became witness to children in need of oral surgery and other treatment that was denied that treatment because they did not have the money to pay, long lines of people waiting in line with small children in great need of attention. It was at this point that my destiny first became most apparent. I participated in several diagnostic, restoration, and prophylaxis camps in schools and nursing homes. I co-authored a review paper published in FDI, an international journal, "Implants: always a success?" I helped spearhead my Prime Minister's ambitious "Swatch Bharath Abhiyan" (a pan-India cleanliness drive) in my community near my dental college. I led a large group of dental interns to clean up polluted areas in and around the college. We educated as many people as we could about the importance of hygiene. I participated in several blood donation campaigns and volunteered for the 'pink ribbon walk,' a breast cancer awareness run. The most significant highlight of my career was visiting the US and staying there for five months on a business visa, seeing, and studying the country, and completing an observership with Dr. XXXX, a renowned prosthodontist in Philadelphia. I have continued to learn daily for several months, working for one of my former professors in his dental clinic. My finest moments have included assisting my professors in treating trauma victims, helping my Prosthodontics professor with a research project, and becoming listed as co-author of another paper published in an international journal. A 1-month observership under XXXX at Prosthodontics Ltd. in Philadelphia taught me more than I could imagine. Especially valuable was what I learned concerning sterilization protocol in the USA. During my internship, I volunteered to work part-time alongside XXXX, my mentor in Periodontics. Later, he hired me as a clinical dental surgeon in his clinic when I graduated. I still work in his clinic. In addition to continuing to publish in implants, I also look forward to doing research concerning pre-cancerous lesions and a professional lifetime of devotion to the cause of raising public oral health awareness. The major challenge in India is surmounting people's ignorance about oral health, especially in rural areas. I have also studied music intensively. I sing Indian Classical Music to my patients, especially the little ones, as it helps calm them down and distract them from the procedures. I have taught Sunday school to children who could not afford school for many years. As young as six or seven, many work long hours doing whatever they can to survive through the week. I thank you for considering my application to your competitive DDS Program. International Dentist Shadowing a Prosthodontist #IDP #internationaldentist #personalstatement #editing

  • Indian Periodontics Professor IDP Personal Statement

As soon as I entered dental school in my native India, I developed a particular interest in and passion for Periodontics. As much as I could, especially following my graduation, I have focused my special efforts on this area of dentistry. My efforts have been rewarded because I now teach Periodontics as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the XXXX School of Dental Medicine. It is a great honor to serve in this capacity, and I hope that it will help result in my being selected to attend and complete your distinguished DDS/DMD program. I hope to improve my education in dentistry here in America by earning a world-class doctoral degree on the forefront of dentistry. Completing the Postdoctoral MS Degree Program in Periodontics at XXXX (2013 – 2016) was the crowning achievement in my life, coupled with the joy of teaching Periodontics. Now, I seek to add to this accomplishment the completion of the doctoral degree in Dentistry as well, here in the USA, where I am making a new home and look forward to many decades to come practicing dentistry. Before beginning my MS Program at XXXX, I studied full-time for two years (2011- 2013) in a Postdoctoral Program in Oral Medicine at the XXXX Dental School in Newark, where I completed a Graduate Research Project on “Screening for Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes in a Dental Setting” with a particular focus on the added benefits of Hs-CRP as compared to FRS. These experiences helped me distinguish myself at Rutgers, as I now teach in the program. I have also completed a Preceptorship in Oral Implantology & Reconstructive Dentistry at Smile USA, working alongside my mentor Dr. XXXX, DDS, at the Center for Reconstructive Dentistry in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In addition, I have had advanced training in sinus augmentation and completed courses in Soft Tissue and critical Soft Tissue Techniques in Esthetic & Implant Dentistry, all with Dr. XXXX. I have studied hard and given all day after day to treat our clinic patients. My expertise in and passion for Periodontics will help me excel in your doctoral program in dentistry and help me to make meaningful contributions to the many discussions I look forward to having with peers and colleagues in your program. I look forward to a long lifetime contributing to the profession through meaningful research, striving to come as close to perfection as I can clinically speaking, and giving back to the community in abundance. The opportunity to be involved in significant scientific research at XXXX has enabled me to understand better how to design and execute a research project that yields solid results. Here at XXXX, I conducted a study involving Screening for Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes in a Dental Setting (Added Benefits of Hs-CRP to FRS). I completed the entire project independently, from writing the Grant to presenting the study afterward. I am currently collaborating with Dr. XXXX, analyzing Hs-crp and its association with coronary disease after phase 1 periodontal therapy (comparing HS-CRP and A1c levels before phase 1 therapy and after phase 1 therapy). I now consider myself highly skilled at writing grant proposals, drafting and carrying out a project protocol, analyzing and interpreting data, conducting an extensive literature review, and writing and presenting a study. I am also contributing to the literature by publishing case studies (periosteal pouch/alternative to membrane for bone augmentation) and systemic review papers (growth factors and periimplantitis) - currently under review by the publisher. My scores have always stood at the top of my class, and I have done well on the national boards. My clinical skills have significantly advanced since coming to America. It is enormously exciting and fulfilling to apply what I have been learning to treat my patients, particularly alleviating pain. In my family, I was taught to honor our philosophy of service. Each year while growing up, we participated in various social service projects, providing food, beds, and shelter to vulnerable and underserved people. Thus, continuing to do this as a dental student in India came most naturally. It was a special honor to be chosen as the Chief Resident and Community Service Coordinator for my class here in the USA. I look forward to always learning as much as possible whenever I can: techniques, approaches, and best practices, using what I know to benefit others, and developing my leadership skills, especially in Periodontics. I intend to serve my local community in private practice and always continue my engagement with the community as a volunteer. I look forward to learning a great deal from my peers and mentors in your distinguished doctoral program in dentistry, and I thank you for considering my application. A very hard-working Saudi Arabian dentist, I have learned to balance my full-time devotion to dentistry with my family artfully. I am a young woman whose first professional love is Periodontology. This has empowered me to become an expert in time management and multitasking; my fullest professional aspiration is to teach in this area and practice at some point in my career. Thus, I hope to receive some of the finest training in the world in Periodontology due to being accepted to and completing a Residency Program. I have always believed that a beautiful smile makes a person more attractive and confident, making an optimal first impression. Before beginning dental school, I was passionate about beauty and improving people’s lives in sustainable ways. For me, Dentistry fulfills both of those drives. I finished dental school in Saudi Arabia two years ago and was most proud to rank 8th in my class. Since beginning dental school, I have focused on Periodontology as the area where I hope to pursue advanced training. Particularly after my first two years of dental school, I learned enough about various areas of specialization in dentistry to feel fully confident that Periodontology was the correct choice for me. By my fifth year, I was treating patients under the supervision of a resident dentist with advanced training in Periodontology. I began to better understand our field's theoretical and clinical aspects, attended more surgeries, and watched videos online. I came to appreciate the equal importance of periodontium and dentation. In my internship, I focused on Implantology, which I could not do in dental school, and I fell in love with all aspects of implants. My four months of rotations in various implant clinics in different hospitals were some of my best times, along with regular workshops on multiple aspects of implant techniques and resources.  By the end of this experience, I was convinced I wanted to give my professional life mostly to Implantology. I so loved being a student that I began to dream of teaching someday about this time in my career. On a few occasions, I went to schools to talk about my specialty and how much it could improve people's lives, providing instructions concerning dental care and avoiding dental problems. I have always been a person who loves to discover things and learn more, which has led me to participate in many research projects; for the last couple of years, most of my research efforts have been in Periodontics. I want to devote my life to helping patients have a higher quality of life due to their treatment. I also seek a lifetime of intense community engagement and support as an oral health professional. I keenly look forward to participating in public health campaigns and want to raise awareness about the importance of periodontics. I feel strongly that my six years of formal academic training in dentistry will enable me to hit the ground running in your program and excel. Thank you for considering my application.
